Begin a Commission
Custom work is the center of what we do. If you have something in mind — a specific stone, an occasion, a form you have been thinking about — this is where it starts.
How it works
Initial conversation
Tell us what you have in mind — the occasion, the person, any materials or forms you're drawn to. There are no wrong answers at this stage. We're listening for what matters, not what you already know about jewelry.
Design and proposal
We sketch and refine the concept with you. You'll see drawings before any metal is touched. We iterate until the design is right — not until we've run out of revisions.
Material selection
For significant commissions we source stones in person. You'll receive photographs and details of the candidates, and you make the final choice. The metal alloy, finish, and weight are decided together.
Making
The piece is made by hand in our Santo Domingo studio. Timelines are honest — typically 8 to 14 weeks depending on complexity. You'll receive updates as the work progresses.
Delivery
Finished pieces are delivered in person where possible, or shipped fully insured. Every commission includes a documentation card describing the materials, techniques, and dimensions — a record meant to travel with the piece.
What to include when you write
You do not need to have everything figured out. But if you can share any of the following, the first conversation will be more useful:
- What's the occasion, if there is one?
- Who is it for — yourself, or someone else?
- Any metals, stones, or forms you're drawn to?
- Approximate timeline (is there a date that matters?)
- A sense of your budget range
Commissions typically start at $2,000. There is no upper limit — the scope is determined by the work.
