Contact Atelier→Two stones set side by side, touching at the bezel walls — the composition that jewelers have always called toi et moi. Here the pairing is a trillion-cut blue sapphire on the left and a round brilliant diamond on the right, each held in its own bezel and its own metal: the sapphire in white gold, which sharpens the stone’s cool periwinkle tone; the diamond in yellow gold, which warms the brilliance to something closer to fire.
The two bezels are joined at the base and flow directly into a slim, high-polish 18k yellow gold band. No prongs, no gallery work, nothing to interrupt the stones. The sapphire’s trillion form — three curved corners, a broad table — makes it read wider than its weight; the diamond reads quieter beside it, which is the right balance.
The piece exists in the long tradition of two-stone rings made to mark a relationship between two people or two ideas. This one was made once.
The decision to use different metals for the two bezels came late — an earlier version had both in yellow gold, which flattened the distinction between the stones. The white gold bezel around the sapphire creates a frame that holds the blue rather than competing with it. The yellow gold bezel around the diamond lets the stone’s warmth read as part of the band, not separate from it.
