Contact Atelier→The ring does not close. One end rises to a circular bezel holding a dark faceted spinel — near-black, with flashes of deep purple when light enters from above. The other end tapers and curls into a sculptural bud: a tulip or an unfurling leaf, hand-modeled in wax so that the surface reads as something grown rather than drawn.
Between the two ends, the band describes a smooth arc — no taper, no decoration, nothing to compete with the two terminals. The gap between them is intentional: open jewelry is jewelry that breathes.
The spinel and the bud balance each other without matching. One is geometry; the other is nature. The ring lives in the tension between them.
Open bypass rings require the two ends to feel resolved independently — otherwise the eye reads incompleteness rather than intention. The bud form went through several wax iterations before it held its weight against the stone. The spinel was chosen because its darkness gives the stone-end gravity without demanding color from the rest of the piece.
